MATHY from a long tradition

Quality developed by the racing driver

Otto Mathé, pioneer of lubricant technology and a great role model for Niki Lauda
He rushed from victory to victory throughout his life as a racing driver and was already a legend in Austria during his lifetime. Before and after the Second World War, Otto Mathé was one of the most successful motorsport drivers in the world. Niki Lauda, former Formula 1 world champion, said in an interview: "I admired Otto Mathé even as a little boy. I admired his cars and how he raced with just one arm!"

Lubricated with additive, his engines were significantly more powerful
The Second World War had just ended when Otto Mathé began to develop an additive to improve the lubricity of motor oils used in racing. He tested his additive himself and used it in races. His engines immediately ran faster and more reliably than competitor engines of the same design. Otto Mathé drove a Porsche under racing conditions for over 100,000 kilometers without changing the oil, although Porsche still prescribed an oil change every 3,000 kilometers at the time.

Otto Mathé was Austrian national champion
In 1952, he won 20 starts in 20 races and became Austrian national champion. To fully appreciate this achievement, it is important to know that the rated power of his engine was significantly lower than that of his competitors. Otto Mathé also drove with one arm. His right arm had been paralyzed since an accident in 1934.

State-of-the-art lubricant technology for engine, fuel and transmission
Even after his active motorsport career, the successful inventor and engine tuner continued to develop his revolutionary additive to reduce friction. A few years before his death, Otto Mathé transferred his knowledge, product brand and research results to the dedicated entrepreneur Dierk Müller. This ensured the further development and continued existence of this ultra-modern lubricant technology.

Under the name MATHY®, every car driver can still get state-of-the-art lubricant additives today. With MATHY® in the engine, fuel and gearbox, your standard vehicles also benefit - they become more powerful, more durable and more economical.

The fact that a one-armed man (Otto Mathé) outpaced everyone else was always met with disbelief and amazement by the audience
