Gearboxes are one of the most important components in the drivetrain, from the engine to the wheels. The selected transmission ratio is responsible for ensuring that the engine power always reaches the drive axle or the wheels in exactly the same way.

Why should additives be used in gearboxes and differentials?

Gear wheels and gearbox bearings are subject to permanent wear due to high loads. Commercially available gear oils cannot provide sufficient protection over longer running times and their lubricating performance degrades. MATHY gear oil additives compensate for this degradation and improve and optimize the lubricating effect in the long term. The additional reduction in frictional resistance means that all the power from the engine is transferred to the drive axles without loss.

How do MATHY gear oil additives work?

MATHY transmission oil additives form a solid hydrocarbon-based compound with the transmission oil. This bond is retained until the next oil change. By increasing the pressure resistance of the gear oil, gaps between the tooth flanks are compensated. This acts as an additional buffer and sustainably reduces wear.
