Die Paraffinmolek\u00fcle werden in besonderen Crackanlagen in einer Wasserstoffatmosph\u00e4re unter Verwendung spezieller Katalysatoren in k\u00fcrzere Schmierstoffmolek\u00fcle zerbrochen (gecrackt). Dabei fallen prozessbedingt \u00fcberwiegend verzweigte Kohlenwasserstoffketten (Isoparaffine) an. In der nachfolgenden Vakuumdestillation werden die Isoparaffine nach Viskosit\u00e4ten getrennt und die noch verbleibenden unverzweigten Kohlenwasserstoffketten (Normalparaffine) in einer Nachgeschalteten Entparaffinierung entfernt. Molekule parafinov se razgradijo (razpo\u010dijo) v kraj\u0161e molekule maziva v posebnih kreking obratih v vodikovi atmosferi z uporabo posebnih katalizatorjev. Pri tem nastajajo predvsem razvejane ogljikovodikove verige (izoparafini).
